Experience
This school year is my 8th year teaching in Harlandale ISD, but my 1st year at Harlandale High School.
This year, I am teaching Pre-Calculus.
I have taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Math Models, and AP Statistics.
I have also taught College Algebra in the Fall of 2013 at the University of the Incarnate Word.
Before
I began my career, I worked briefly as a substitute math teacher at
Brackenridge High School and student taught there as well. Each semester
in college, I participated in a teaching program at UTSA called UTeach,
where I was placed in schools around the city at each level, elementary
(4th and 5th grade), middle school (7th grade), and high school (all
grades). While in these schools I observed, taught, and assisted
teachers and students in math classrooms. I taught lessons for all high
school math subjects.

Born
and raised on the south side of San Antonio, I am the middle child of 5
children and the only daughter to my parents. I am the only one of my
siblings to go to and graduate from college. I've earned two degrees, a
Bachelor's degree and Master's degree. I am blessed to have married my
high school sweetheart and we have shared 13 years together so far. We
have two children, my son is 10 years old and in 5th grade, and my
daughter is 3 years old. We also have a third baby, our dog, whom we've
raised since she was a puppy.
I
have always had a passion for math and as a high school senior, I was
fortunate to have a math teacher that introduced me to the joys of
teaching by allowing me to teach my classmates a few times during that
year. I enjoy reading, singing, playing with my children and going to
student games and tournaments. Most of all, I enjoy being a teacher to
some of the best students the city has to offer.
