A product of the South San Antonio ISD system. South San High School Class of 1976.
Eastern New Mexico University BBA 1980, a 3 year starter on the Lone Star Conf. football team.
I have gained many Microsoft MOUS certifications over the years, making my job teaching Microsoft Office products easier.
I worked throughout high school
from maintenance to Jack in the Box, I have always had a part time job
in college, work study, gas stations and package stores, so I was never a
stranger to work. When I graduated from college, I sat down and really
thought about what I wanted to do, I really enjoyed athletics and they
were a big part of my life, I received a business degree so it was
logical to go into the business of sporting goods. I worked 17 years in
that industry and I really thought I would end up staying in business
for a lifetime, but one day literally I woke up and told my wife I going
to find out what it would take to become a teacher. After a month
of thinking and a visit to Texas State University CTE department I
pulled the trigger and sold my shares in my company and looked for a
teaching position, I applied at only two places, South San ISD and
Harlandale ISD, luck would have it, I was offered a job at each place
and now after 19 years at HISD I know I made the right choice. I've
never looked back. Now I am CTE department chair and I am a fixture at
HHS. And I love it.
