I would like to extend a warm and pleasant welcome to all returning and future cadets, who support the JROTC program, as well as parents of the Harlandale District. I am Staff Sergeant Augustine Rodriguez (Retired, United States Army). I am a native of San Antonio, Texas born in 1959. I entered active military service from July 24, 1986 through July 31, 2006.

A brief synopsis of my family includes, my daughter earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University and is employed with the Northside I.S.D., teaching computer science at the elementary level. My son completed a; "General Applied Associates Degree from Northwest Vista College, and was accepted to Texas A&M University San Antonio for the fall term of 2014, seeking to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology; for the remainder of his educational endeavors. The biggest part of my success which is accredited to my spouse. She was employed with the Killeen, I.S.D. for approximately seven years as a paraprofessional while I was serving on active duty, serving the needs of "Special Education." She continues to be state certified; however currently employed in the public sector.

Below is a brief description of my military duty assignments, military awards received, military educational accomplishments, and civilian education obtained during the duration on active duty.

I am honored and humble to be serving the Harlandale district for the fifth consecutive year as a JROTC instructor, after serving one year as a JROTC Instructor at Veterans Memorial High School in Mission, Texas.

My vision, goals, and objectives for the JROTC program is to ensure I provide leadership, inspiration, motivation, and empower cadets to received a solid education for the demanding journey of responsibility in both, the private or public sector to compete in a local, state, national, and global arena in the employment of their dreams. Their success will be measured by the standards impose by our State and National level of academic performance based on the Task, Essential, Knowledge, and Skills (TEKS) curriculum as prescribed by the Texas Board of Education.

Each cadet will maintain a portfolio to show and display their academic achievements!  Every cadet will insert their assignments as required on the cadet portfolio.
