Hello My Name Is...
Mrs. Sarah A. Van Zant
I graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2007 with a
Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in English. I am certified in
Social Studies 8-12 as well as Special Education K-12.
In World History, we learn about the various time periods of the past
and use critical thinking skills to analyze these historical events to
come to conclusions about the past and implications for the present and
future. Additionally, reading, writing, and discussing historical events
will be a major component in learning about world history and preparing
our students for future classes and endeavors.
Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year! I hope you enjoy your time in my class and learn about World History and Economics.
Here's a tidbit of information about my experience. This is my
seventh year at Harlandale High School. I have taught World Geography
and U.S. History and I love history! I think it is the best subject in
the world and I encourage my students to develop their critical thinking
skills about history and life in general. Success comes for those who
are ever-present in mind and body in the classroom and attempt to learn
about the best subject in the world.
